For the past couple of years local fashion designers have had a chance to show their skills during the Project LARKWAY fashion show competition at Art on Lark. This year we decided to change things up a little bit. We are very excited and proud to introduce a new competition; one that this area has not seen before.
The LARK-ternative Hair Show and Competition will take place on June 26th at Art on Lark and will feature five stylists (either individually or in teams) showing their most creative, alternative or avant garde hairstyles on five models. Competing stylists will have the chance to win fantastic prizes like salon education classes, product, and tools of the trade.
Stylists can enter the competition, either individually or in teams of up to five, by submitting the LARK-ternative entry form, three pictures of their alternative or avant garde hairstyles, and a $25 entry fee. Submissions will be accepted from April 1-30. After the submission period a panel of hair industry professionals will choose the top ten entrants. These stylists will be featured right here on the Lark Street Blog and the public will have an opportunity to vote for their favorites. The public's votes will determine four of the five final stylists for the competition. The fifth stylist will be a wild card contestant determined by the panel of hair industry professionals.
More information about the competition can be found on our website including the entry materials. We are excited about this new competition and can't wait to see the talent and passion of the stylists in the Capital District!
