Incoming College Students Fall 2011 Tour of Central Ave.

The Lark Street BID is teaming up with Central BID to get the freshman from Universities in the Albany area to be more engaged with the businesses along Central Avenue. So this Saturday October 22, 2011 we are welcoming all incoming freshmen to join us on a tour through Central Avenue, the Lark Street, and Downtown Districts. The idea behind doing so is to develop new potentially loyal customers to these businesses and to show the student that it is within their reach. Were hoping that it will bring upward 2000 plus students to the area. We want the students to get involved with the outside community beyond the Universities. Broaden their horizon and show then what they are missing out on. While on the tour they have the opportunity to look at the menus and take them back with them as well as, receive coupon or flyer about the businesses. By doing this were hoping that it will bring more revenue to the Albany BID Districts and bring Central Avenue, Lark Street, and Downtown back to life and make it become the main streets in Albany.

Halloween Party

It is that time of year again when the leaves start to change and the goblins and ghosts come out. This year, while there might be some goblins and ghosts seen on Friday, October 28th, they most likely won't be at the Halloween Party hosted by the Lark Street BID and Chris Pratt of The Barrel Saloon; this party always features some of the most creative costumes around! This is one of the biggest and best Halloween parties in the area and is one event not to miss!

In order to make this year's event even more spectacular, Chip Fasciana of Albany Underground Artists will be decorating the Lake House. Following his success with the pop-up art gallery in the former Planned Parenthood building on Lark Street at Art on Lark, this is sure not to be your average pumpkin and hay bale design!

The Halloween Party is a fundraiser for the Lark Street BID and will take place at the Washington Park Lake House on Friday, October 28th from 9pm-1am. The party is 21 and over with an open bar. Costumes are mandatory. Prizes will be awarded for the Best Costumes. Take a peek at the 2010 Halloween Party.

Tickets can be pre-purchased from The Barrel Saloon for $20.
Tickets can also be purchased at the door: With an invite- $20
                                                                 Without an invite- $50
Invites can be picked up from the Lark Street BID office at 245 Lark Street.

Proceeds from the Halloween Party go to support the mission and programs of the Lark Street BID, a 501c3 non-profit organization.
